EUROPE CROWNS IT’S FIRST SOCA KING ….

EUKSM hosted it the first EUROPE UNITED KINGDOM SOCA MONARCH-EUKSM in London on Friday night. The competition brought together artistes from all over Europe ,some of whom have Caribbean roots, with the aim of showcasing their craft to be crowned the first ever King or Queen of Soca in Europe.
Among the 12 competitors Vincentian Soca artiste Wetty Beatz who represented France, took the top spot with his song entitle “Sye Pa Mele” which earned him the trophy and a cheque of £1,500.
Wetty Beatz who is no stranger to music industry has been performing and producing music for many years.
Phillip Bastien, or as the world calls him – Wetty Beatz – is an international, trailblazing record producer and artiste. He has been instrumental in the takeoff of the music genre Afro-Soca that combines the pulse and sounds of African music with notorious Soca vibes.
Born and raised on the tiny Union Island, located within the Caribbean country St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Wetty has always had a love for all things music.
Wetty moved to Paris, France to attend university at the SAE Institute Paris where he studied Sound Engineering and still lives today.
With his seamless pairing of Soca music and African rhythms, Wetty has been in high demand for his work across the Caribbean. Over the years he has been called upon by notable Caribbean artistes for his production. Some of his collaborations include; Machael Montano, Bunji Garlin (whom he lists as one of his greatest musical influences), Busy Signal, Fayann Lyons, Olatunji – just to name a few. Wetty has also won several awards; 3 time Riddim of the year recipient and Producer of the Year 2016 at the Saint Vincent AMP awards. . Below are the top three
